I began taking photos as a source of inspiration for painting, finding abstract art in nature. My lens was the frame, and I focused on pattern, shape, colour and composition. I soon realized that viewing a garden, city or foreign landscape through a camera changed the way I saw things, and photography became both an act of creation and meditation. Finally, it dawned on me that my photos were no longer merely an inspiration for art, but art itself. Here’s a sample of my work, which I make into cards and framed prints. The photos were taken in Namibia, Spain, Petra, Paris, Israel and Vancouver.
